Secure IBAN Validator & Formatter (Offline Check)

Sending money internationally? A single typo in the IBAN (International Bank Account Number) can cause your payment to fail or be sent to the wrong account. Banks often charge heavy fees for failed transfers.

Pixedra’s IBAN Validator checks the integrity of the code using the official Mod-97 Algorithm. It instantly verifies if the checksum is correct and formats the number for easy reading. Best of all, it runs locally in your browser—your banking details are never sent to our server.

How to Verify an IBAN Code

  1. Paste IBAN: Enter the code (with or without spaces) into the box.
  2. Auto-Format: The tool automatically groups the digits (usually sets of 4) to make it readable.
  3. Check Status:
    • Valid: The Checksum matches the account details.
    • Invalid: You likely made a typo. Check the first two letters (Country Code) or the two digits after them.

What do the numbers mean?

Understanding the IBAN Structure

An IBAN is made up of up to 34 alphanumeric characters, but the structure is always consistent:

  • Country Code (First 2 Letters): E.g., DE for Germany, GB for UK, NL for Netherlands.
  • Check Digits (Next 2 Numbers): Calculated mathematically to prevent typos.
  • Bank Identifier: Identifies the specific bank (e.g., DEUT for Deutsche Bank).
  • Account Number: The specific customer account details.

Why use Pixedra's Validator?

Most online IBAN checkers send your data to a backend server to validate it. This creates a privacy risk.

Pixedra uses Client-Side Validation. We use the mathematical algorithm directly on your device. We do not store, log, or transmit the account numbers you type here. You can even use this tool while disconnected from the internet!
